“Just Champagne”Our buckskin colt qualified for the main licensing in Verden – a moment of pride
It is with great pleasure and a little reverential pride that we can announce: the young stallion born and raised in our stable, with the rare special color buckskin, has qualified for the main licensing in Verden. This is a milestone we have been working towards for a long time – and one that proves this stallion is something very special. JUST CHAMPAGNE, owned by Ms. Ursula Kasberger.
A stallion with character and charisma
Even at birth, he stood out with his clear expression, solid build, and calm demeanor. His buckskin color—rather unusual in riding horse breeding—makes him particularly attractive, without compromising his foundation, movement quality, or conformation. On the contrary, he wears this color with elegance, as if it were tailor-made for him.
But beauty alone is not enough: this stallion captivates with his fine character. In his daily work, he always showed a willingness to learn, a sensitive response to aids, but also solid nerves and a genuine willingness to cooperate. He is not a loud daredevil, but a horse with intelligence, inner calm, and a willingness to partner – qualities that are hard to find in breeding.
The fact that he has now been accepted for the main licensing in Verden is a special honor for us and a great sign of confidence. It shows that he not only impresses with his appearance, but also has the breeding and performance potential to succeed on the big stage.
A pedigree that convinces
This stallion’s genetic background is just as impressive as his appearance:
Sire: Just Wimphof
Just Wimphof is a modern dressage stallion, approved by the KWPN, among others. He is descended from De Niro (sire) out of the Rastede dam line (Riccione × Sandro Hit …).
In breeding, Just Wimphof is particularly valued for his excellent rideability, stable movement, and ability to pass on performance traits.
He has been a pioneer in KWPN breeding on several occasions and is one of the most popular sires, especially in 2017/2018.
Just Wimphof’s dam line is no less renowned: his dam Rastede, daughter of Riccione and Sandro Hit, was successful in sport (with an IBOP score of 84.5) and shared the same line as important breeding lines such as the Don Schufro line.
In breeding, it is emphasized that Just Wimphof passes on stability, good back suppleness, and quality in the basic gaits to his offspring.
Dam: by Quantensprung / Floriscount
On the dam’s side, another renowned sire comes into play in the form of Quantensprung. Quantensprung was an expressive dressage stallion, licensed in several German associations (Hanover, Oldenburg, Westphalia, etc.).
He embodies a large frame and elegant movements, with a pedigree that leads both through Quattro (his sire) and through the lines of Donnerhall.
In addition, Quantensprung’s offspring have shown a strong presence at licensing and auctions – for example, three sons were licensed in Verden, and one son was even awarded premium stallion status.
The connection to Floriscount on the dam’s side also complements the pedigree with proven dressage and hereditary lines (Floriscount is an established sire with a solid reputation).
Through this combination of Just Wimphof on the sire’s side and Quantensprung/Floriscount on the dam’s side, our stallion combines outstanding dressage basics with exciting hereditary prospects.
Looking ahead – opportunities and expectations
The stallion licensing in Verden is a crucial step. There, his overall appearance will be thoroughly examined: conformation, movement in all basic gaits, assessment of proportions, but also breed characteristics—including his special color pattern—and his demeanor. The fact that he has already reached this level shows that we are on the right track.
We do not expect easy evaluations, but we are convinced that with his pedigree, character, and good basic qualities, he has the best chances of being recognized as a licensed stallion – and perhaps inspiring his own offspring in the future.
For us and his owner, he is not just a breeding project, but a real horse of the heart. He embodies our breeding philosophy: not quantity, but quality; not just a show stallion, but an authentic partner with inner qualities.
We are looking forward to the licensing – and will of course report on the progress and the final evaluation. Keep your fingers crossed for us – and feel free to check back to learn more about him and his journey!
